LaSportiva Wildcat Review

By: 0 Comments

During the New River Rendezvous, I had time to catch up with our regional La Sportiva Rep. (Doug Madera), and he turned me on to a new shoe that La Sportiva is introducing this year, the Wildcat.  In the past, I have tried other La Sportiva trail running shoes and the toe box was always too narrow, a design flaw that La Sportiva has come full circle to recognize.  Being a skeptic, Doug explained some of the new features of the Wildcat, which included: a wider and much more accommodating toe box, excellent cushioning, and a new “Wildcat” tread pattern for digging into a variety of trail surfaces.

Fast Forward – It has been 3 weeks since I first laced up a new pair of La Sportiva Wildcats, and I’ve really enjoyed the amount of cushioning these shoes provide.  I usually run 3-5 miles at a quick pace, and the aggressive “Wildcat” tread pattern has done an excellent job of hooking up on the trail.  As it stands, I give these shoes an A-.  If you are looking for a stable, neutral, and extremely well cushioned trail shoe, check out the Wildcat.
